The legend narrates the existence of these five holy places. Sage Marichi is the father of Kasyapa and grandfather of Gods and demons. Kasyapa married the thirteen daughters of Daksha and Diti is his first wife. She is the mother of Hiranyaksha and Hiranyakasipa. They became demons due to the atmosphere they have grown and became cruel on the world and hesitators of Lord Vishnu. Vishnu exterminated them in incarnations of Varah and Nrusimha to protect the world from their cruelty. Diti conceived after the death of her two children serving her husband Sage Kasyapa. Indra felt that she will again give birth to demon and the world will face difficulties.  He has broken the embryo in the womb of Diti into pieces with his Vajrayudha. The pieces formed as Krittikas and joined in the entourage of Indra of Heaven. Diti asked Kasyapa to bless her with child. Kasyapa advised to perform penance of Shiva. She did penance of Shiva for a period of one thousand years. Diti obtained the blessings and gave birth to the male child Vajranga serving her husband.

The body of Vajranga is hard like Diamond and he is a great warrior. Diti requested Vajranga to defeat Indra. Vajarga defeated Indra and became the King of Heaven giving satisfaction to is mother. Vajranga punished Indra and other Gods kept them in prison. Brahma came to know the matter and he has gone to Vajranga accompanied with Kasyapa. Brahma tried to convince Vajranga about his attitude and instructed to release Gods from prison. Vajrana criticised Indra as bad person who has broken the embryo in womb of his mother into pieces with his Vajrayudha and liable for the present punishment. Vajranga informed that he has no interest on monarchy and he satisfied his mother. He has requested to preach Philosophy. Brahma satisfied and explained sathvica nature of Philosophy. Brahma created and presented a lady named Vajrangi to him and returned to Satya Loka. Still then Vajranga accustomed to the sathvica leaving cruel nature but his wife Vajrangi used to live with lust.

Vajranga asked his wife to express her desire. Vajrangi expressed her desire to present a male child defeat Lord Vishnu and conquer all the three worlds. Vajranga knew that his wife wants enmity with Gods and felt in ambiguous. He could not take any step due to his sathvica nature. He performed penance of Brahma and Brahma asked his boon. Vajranga chanting Brahma asked a male child with heavy strong and interested in penance. Brahma meditates Shiva in his mind and blessed Vajranga with boon. In due course, Vajrangi given birth to a male child named by his grandfather Kasyapa as Tarakasura.  Bad Omens occurred with the birth of Tarakasura informing the people going to face major harassment in future.
